Have you used digital payment services such as PayPal or digital wallets such as Google Pay/PhonePe? Have you conducted searches on Google for something and found the correct results even if you misspelled the word? Remember those times when the sentence you think in mind gets automatically completed in search engines bars? Then, you have witnessed the simplest form of Machine Learning.

The term Machine Learning refers to an application or computer system that learns on its own without being instructed/programmed by a person. This is done through a computer algorithm which identifies patterns in multiple pieces of data and predicts the most apparent result. Taking a cue from one of the examples mentioned above; a search engine uses machine learning abilities to predict what you are searching for based on similar searches earlier and/or your browsing patterns. That is, a machine learns to conduct searches by itself by the patterns made in your earlier searches.

As a definition, Machine Learning is a branch of Artificial Intelligence. It automatically analyzes data model building. With ML, systems can themselves learn from data, identify patterns and make decisions with minimal human intervention.
